Coach Tony Jones is no stranger to the game of basketball. He has been coaching and teaching the game of basketball for over 16 years. He has coached at several different levels, from seventh grade boys to women’s collegiate. He has been coaching in the state of Oregon since 1996. Tony has been a High School Varsity Head Coach for eight years with success following him at each program he touches.
Coach Tony is currently the Head Coach of the Varsity Girls Basketball Team at The Portland Waldorf School. He has guided this team to a top three state ranking, a Valley 10 League Championship, two Valley 10 League District Championships, The Valley 10 League Player of the Year as well as being named the Valley 10 League Coach of the year. Coach Tony's Teams are being mentioned with the best the State of Oregon has to offer. Tony has a true passion and love for the game of Basketball which shows in his enthusiasm, his hands on teaching method and his attention to detail. He really cares that his players know what they are doing, the proper way directed to do it and why.
Tony is an outstanding teacher and motivator! He has worked numerous camps and clinics throughout the West Coast. A few of the exceptional programs he has worked with are: University of Portland of the WCC, the University of Washington, and the University of California at Berkeley, of the Pacific 10 Conference. Tony is currently working with the Portland Trail Blazers of the NBA, helping to run their camps and clinics around the Portland Metro area. He has been involved with the Trailblazers Organization helping to facilitate their camps and clinics since December of 2008, through their "Make a Difference Program".
There are not many coaches that are true students of the game, as Tony is. Nor do they take his adaptive approach to basketball. The game of basketball is always changing, from roles to players. Tony observes these changes and incorporates the best of what was old with the best of the new changes and finds a style that best incorporates all of these components with the talent/skill level of the campers. The result of this combination is improved skill and knowledge of the game of basketball.
Tony is the coach to take your thirst for basketball knowledge, your enthusiasm to improve and your great attitude; and help to advance and elevate your game to the next level.

Coach Russ Cunningham has worked amongst some of the most talented basketball minds the west coast has to offer. He has spent the last 13 years coaching and instructing youth at all levels, from middle school to college. Coach Russ is an outstanding teacher, and his love for the game is unquestioned.
Russ understands what it takes to get to the next level! He has worked along side some great coaches including Former University of California at Berkeley Head Coach Ben Braun, and current ESPN and ABC college basketball analyst Steve Lavin. There is only one thing Russ enjoys more than learning about the game of basketball and that is sharing his unique view of the game with others who are willing to learn and want to take their game to that next level.
Coach Russ is currently teamed up with Coach Tony Jones bringing a winning atmosphere to the Portland Waldorf High School basketball program. In three short years they have taken a program that won three games in the 2006-2007 season to a program that cracked the top ten in the Oregon high school coaches poll in 2008-2009. He believes the key to being great not only in basketball, but also in life is having a winning attitude. The definition of a winning attitude begins with the willingness to listen, work hard, and to be enthusiastic about everything you do. Incorporating a great attitude with the fundamentals of basketball is the perfect recipe for success . Russ brings an un-bridled passion for the game of basketball which will undoubtedly rub off on youth of all ages and skill levels.
